West Bridgford grew from a small village in the mid-19th century into a town of over 36,000 people by 2021. When the Musters family sold land for the West Bridgford Estate, they set strict rules: a grid of tree-lined roads, limits on housing density and size along main roads such as Musters Road, and smaller houses and terraces on side roads such as Exchange Road.
